READING, Pa. – The 18th-ranked Kutztown University women's bowling team has been long awaiting this weekend's season-opening Fall Baker, and it did not disappoint. KU went 5-0 on opening day at its home invitational in the first of two days at Berks Lanes.
 
The Golden Bears (5-0) competed in five baker matches and posted impressive scores for their first competition of the year. They defeated Penn State Altoona (807-694), Thiel (931-679), Felician (866-737), Howard (908-827) and Caldwell (971-833) by an average of more than 142 pins.
 
KU was one of three teams to go undefeated on day one, along with LIU Brooklyn and Adelphi.
