ALTOONA, Pa. – The Kutztown University women's bowling team won five of six matches on Saturday and stands in third place in the standings of the Red Flash Invitational, hosted by Saint Francis University (PA).
The Golden Bears (45-34) have won 10 of their 11 matches so far this weekend. It competed on Saturday with wins over Mount Aloysius (966-663), Cheyney (912-798), New Jersey City (879-716), Felician (879-796) and Franklin Pierce (902-867). KU's only loss came to Saint Francis (PA), 961-858.
Dakota May and
Amanda Wilson led KU on Saturday. They both posted two 200+ games and could be considered for the all-tournament team, to be released on Sunday.
Kutztown is ranked third entering Sunday's bracket style tournament. It had 9,914 total pins, trailing Saint Francis (PA) at 10,118 and Norfolk State in second at 9,929.
Action will begin at 7:30 a.m. on Sunday morning from Altoona. KU will face Franklin Pierce in the first round, and will need three wins on the day to win the invite.
