MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – The Kutztown University women's swimming team traveled to Millersville University on Saturday afternoon and came out of Pucillo Natatorium with a 138-122 victory over the Marauders to win its third in a row.
 
Millersville (2-2) got off to a fast start with victories in the first two events, but Caitlin Davies put the Maroon and Gold on the board with a victory in the 200-free.
 
Neither team was able to pull away until KU executed a top-three sweep in the 100-fly with only three events to go, giving the Golden Bears (5-3) a crucial push in points. Zoe Sianis followed up with a first-place performance in the 200 IM (2:22.27), and Kutztown took second and third in the 400-free relay to wrap up the victory.
 
Davies dominated the sprint freestyle events, winning the 100- and 200-free, while placing second in the 50-free. She notched existing- Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) cuts in all three events.
 
Katherine Triggs led the Golden Bears in the distance freestyles. She clocked in at 11:50.84 in the 1000-free to finish second, and took third place in the 500-free with a time of 5:50.14.
 
Bridget Perdoch utilized an existing-PSAC mark in the 200-breast to place first (2:36.53). She also finished second in the 100-breast, touching the wall in 1:11.75.
 
Madi Bleiler placed second in both the 100- and 200- back, while recording an existing-PSAC cut in the 100 (1:02.53).
 
The Golden Bears performed well in the butterfly events. Jessica Bleiler, Kara Jones and Rachael Burke formed the top-three trio in the 100-fly, while Jones and Bleiler secured the top-two spots in the 200-fly.
 
The Marauders held the edge in the relays, winning both the 400-medley and the 400-free relay events.
 
The Golden Bears close out the regular season with a trip to East Stroudsburg on Saturday, Jan. 31 for the ESU Invite.
