Broadcast Information: The game will be broadcasted live on KUTV, which is Service Electric Channel 24, Hometown Utilicom Channel 28 in Kutztown and eastern Berks County, and Service Electric Channel 266 in the Lehigh Valley. Adam Dobrowolski has the call for KUTV.
Ticket Information: Tickets for Tuesday's quarterfinal game are $7 for adults and $2 for students. All PSAC students will be admitted into the game for free with a valid school ID. Pets will not be allowed at Keystone Field and will need to be kept off the premises.
Storyline: The Golden Bears clinched the third seed in the tournament following a 12-4 record in conference play this season. The Fighting Scots are the sixth seed at 9-5-2.
Postseason Regulars: Kutztown qualified for the PSAC Tournament for the seventh-consecutive season. KU has reached the quarterfinals three times (2008, 2012, 2013), the semifinals once (2010), and the championship game twice (2009, 2011) in the previous six seasons.
National Recognition: The Golden Bears entered the national rankings two weeks ago at No. 23, and have since slid up to No. 18. They are ranked fourth in the NCAA regional poll.
Last Meeting: The teams met last week at Keystone Field, when Edinboro scored two goals in the final 12 minutes in a 2-1 win over Kutztown to clinch a spot in the tournament. KU is 6-9-1 all-time vs. Edinboro, with its last win coming in 2013 (2-1).
Streaks and Shutouts: The Golden Bears set a new program record with nine consecutive wins this season, which happened to be snapped by Edinboro. The Kutztown defense recorded eight shutouts during the regular season, including a four-game stretch where they outscored their opponents 10-0. Costello Finishing Strong: After starting the year off without a point in the first six games, senior forward Sam Costello (Westfield, N.J./Westfield) has tallied at least one point in eight of the final 11 games. Costello leads the team with nine goals and 22 points, and is tied for the team-lead with four assists. She recently took sole possession of fifth place in school history with 23 career goals and her 66 career points is only two away from moving into a tie for fourth. This season, she ranks second in the PSAC in points per game (1.57) and leads the conference in goals per game (.643).
Between the Pipes: Freshman goalkeeper Deanna Messner (Willow Grove, Pa./Archbishop Wood) has been rock solid in net for the Golden Bears in her inaugural campaign, tallying 65 saves and seven shutouts. Messner's 0.71 goals-against-average is good for second in KU single-season history. She also moved into a tie for third in single-season wins with 13. Scouting the Scots: After starting off the season 0-4-1, the Fighting Scots executed a much-needed rebound with seven-consecutive wins to put them back in the playoff hunt.
Three-Headed Monster: The Edinboro attack is headlined by a trio of Figthing Scots with six goals apiece. Senior Liz Debo, junior Jansen Hartmann, and freshman Ashley Mutkus have each found the back of the net six times, with Hartmann also tallying four assists. Debo is the school's all-time leader in goals scored.
Next Up: The winner will move on to face the victor of the No. 2 West Chester vs. No. 7 Gannon quarterfinal contest on Friday, Nov. 7. The highest-remaining seed will be the host for the game.
