SERIES HISTORY: Thursday marks the 59th meeting between Kutztown and West Chester. The Golden Rams won last year's matchup under the lights at John A. Farrell Stadium, 22-21, after scoring the game-winning touchdown with 1:05 to play. Kutztown's last win in the series came in 2011 at West Chester, a 24-0 win in the driving snow. Prior to the 2010 season, West Chester had won the previous six matchups.
BROADCAST INFORMATION: The game will air live on PBS39 WLVT in the tri-state area, and on KUTV, which is Service Electric Channel 24, Hometown Utilicom Channel 28 in Kutztown and eastern Berks County, and Service Electric Channel 266 in the Lehigh Valley. Mike Miller and Mike Iannucci return for the 2014 season and have the call for KUTV. It will re-air on KUTV on Sunday, Oct. 12 at 6 p.m., Monday, Oct. 13 at 3 p.m., and Tuesday, Oct. 14 at 12 p.m.

www.ustream.tv/channel/ku-live IN HONOR OF ANDRE: Kutztown University's stadium, currently known as University Field, will be named in honor of Golden Bear alumnus and Pro Football Hall of Famer Andre Reed '05 at a ceremony at the facility on Oct. 18. The Kutztown University Council of Trustees approved the name Andre Reed Stadium at its Sept. 18 meeting. In honor of its 78-year history, the field at the facility will retain the name University Field, and will be referred to officially as University Field at Andre Reed Stadium.
EVEN MATCHUP: Both teams enter this week among the PSAC leaders in most categories. Both teams average more than 44 points per game, and are allowing less than 18 points per game. They both rank in the top six in total offense and defense, Kutztown has the top-ranked passing defense (159.6) and faces West Chester's third-ranked passing offense (327.4). The winner will move into second place in the East, behind undefeated Bloomsburg.
THREE-HEADED MONSTER: Three KU running backs rushed for more than 100 yards for the first time in school history in Saturday's 54-7 win over Millersville.
Terry Williams (West Orange, N.J./Cosby (Phoenix College)) (126),
James Wah Jr. (Whitehall, Pa./Whitehall) (104) and
Darrell Scott (Douglassville, Pa./Daniel Boone) (102) all eclipsed the 100-yard mark and combined for 332 of Kutztown's 383 rushing yards and all five of its rushing touchdowns. It is the most rushing yards as a team for Kutztown since it ran for 384 at Saint Anselm in 2011.
BACK-TO-BACK BURSTS: Junior running back and first-year Golden Bear
Terry Williams (West Orange, N.J./Cosby (Phoenix College)) has run for 100 or more yards in back-to-back games, marking the first KU back to run for 100 yards in consecutive games since Robbie Frey in 2011. Williams has also scored six touchdowns in the last two games. He ran for a career-high 180 yards and four touchdowns against Cheyney and 126 against Millersville. His four touchdowns were the most by a KU back since Stephen Gammage ran for a school-record five touchdowns in 2002 against Cheyney. Williams ranks sixth in the PSAC with six rushing touchdowns.
RUSHING ATTACK: Kutztown's offense was committed to the run on Saturday against Millersville, accounting for 383 of the team's 479 total yards. KU held the advantage in first downs (23-7) and did not throw 30 or more pass attempts for just the third time since 2011.
EARLY LEAD: KU has led at halftime every game this season.
SCORING STREAK: Kutztown built its lead up to 47-0 late in the third quarter against Millersville to extend its consecutive points streak to 121 following a 74-0 win over Cheyney. It also held its opponents scoreless for seven straight quarters before Millersville snapped the streak with a touchdown run five minutes into the fourth quarter.
HISTORICAL NIGHT: In Kutztown's 74-0 win over Cheyney, the Golden Bears set the school-record for points scored in a game early in the fourth quarter, breaking the previous record of 67 from 1991 against Bloomsburg that stood for 23 years. The 74-point victory broke a 65-year school-record of 58 from a 58-0 victory over Trenton State in 1949.
TURNOVER MARGIN: Kutztown leads Division II with a +2.8 turnover margin. KU has forced 17 turnovers (second in Division II) and has lost three (third in Division II).
4TH-DOWN DEFENSE: Kutztown opponents are 0-for-4 on fourth-down conversions. It is the only team in the PSAC and one of two in Division II that have not allowed a successful fourth-down conversion attempt (Central Oklahoma).
THE BARTON BUNCH: Chad Barton (Hollidaysburg, Pa./Hollidaysburg) has thrown a PSAC-leading 17 touchdowns, tied for fourth in Division II, with just one interception. He is one of three quarterbacks in the PSAC (Matt Soltes - ESU; Sean McCartney - WCU) and five in the country with 17 or more TD passes. He is fourth in the PSAC in completions (120) and attempts (197), fifth in passing yards (1,400) and sixth in completion percentage (60.9). In his first career start, Barton set the school-record with 64 pass attempts vs. Slippery Rock. The previous record of 63 attempts was held by Kevin Morton from 2012 against Shippensburg.
DEFENSIVE DOMINANCE: Kutztown's defense has dominated the stat sheet in its last two games. It has not allowed more than 50 passing yards in back-to-back games and has risen to the top passing defense in the PSAC (159.6). Against Cheyney, Cheyney's 47 total yards marked the lowest for the Kutztown defense since 1998, when it allowed 93 to East Stroudsburg.
PROTECT THE QUARTERBACK: The Kutztown offensive line has not allowed a sack in two straight games. It is the first time that KU has not allowed a sack in consecutive games since 2010.
PROMISING RIGHT FOOT: Freshman kicker
Alec Rosenfeld (Bensalem, Pa./Bensalem) has shined when called upon this season. He is 6-for-6 this season, including a career-best 44-yarder against Cheyney. In the past 17 years, only one player has kicked a field goal 44 yards or longer (Matt Dineen vs. Cheyney in 2009). The school-record is 48 yards from 1994 and 1989.
ENGLISH 101: Senior
English Peay (Philadelphia, Pa./George Washington) is a four-year starter at cornerback and has been Kutztown's No. 1 option for much of his career. He was an All-PSAC cornerback in 2012 and has recorded 194 career tackles and five interceptions. He hopes to be the 18th player in program history to record 200 career tackles, including fellow senior
Sam Dougan (Secane, Pa./Ridley) (235).
GOOD HANDS: Kutztown is second in the PSAC and 14th in Division II with two lost fumbles. Edinboro leads the PSAC with one lost fumble. Last season, KU lost five total fumbles (all by quarterbacks) for third in the PSAC and 13th in Division II.
PSAC PRESEASON POLL: The Golden Bears were right in the middle of the pack, slotted fifth of eight teams in the Eastern Division.
