KUTZTOWN, Pa. – The Kutztown University women's volleyball team was four points away from victory late in the fourth set with a 2-1 lead, but West Chester University rallied to tie the match at 2-2 and eventually take the deciding fifth-set in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) contest from Keystone Arena on Saturday.
Kutztown (10-13, 4-11 PSAC) won the second (27-25) and third (25-17) sets to build a 2-1 advantage, and carried a 21-15 point lead late in the fourth set. However, West Chester's Bethany Gould sparked a 9-0 run from the service line that put the Golden Rams (15-10, 6-9) back in front, eventually knotting up the match up at two sets apiece. WCU used the momentum to swing the fifth set in its favor, 15-10.
Danielle Van Buren (Bethlehem, Pa./Saucon Valley) recorded a team-high 16 kills, her second highest output this season, and reached a career milestone on the defensive side. The senior right-side hitter notched two blocks, pushing her to 200 total blocks in her career. She has 52 blocks this season.
Chelsea Braga (Long Beach, N.Y./Long Beach (Fairleigh Dickinson)) contributed on all fronts, ranking second on the team in kills (15) and digs (17), while tallying two aces.
Audrey Stringer (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury) was the final Golden Bear with double-digits kills (12), and led the way with four blocks.
Aly York (Douglassville, Pa./Daniel Boone) put down eight kills, and helped with five digs and two assists.

Madison Brake (Reynoldsburg, Ohio/Bishop Hartley) led the back-line defense with 23 digs while
Anna Conti (Grove City, Ohio/Grove City) tallied 43 assists and 11 digs as the setter.
The Maroon and Gold will return to the court this Friday, Oct. 24 for a 7 p.m. game against Lock Haven University from Keystone Arena.
