KUTZTOWN, Pa. – The Kutztown University swimming team opened its season in its home pool on Saturday and set five conference-qualifying times by winning all eight of its competed events in a 113-76 dual meet win over Mansfield University at the Keystone Pool.
 
Three seniors opened their final year in the Maroon and Gold with Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC)-qualifying cuts, and one freshman opened her career with a conference cut.
 
Senior Caitlin Davies (Ephrata, Pa./Ephrata) won both of her individual events in PSAC-qualifying times. She won the 100-free in 55.55 and the 200-free in 2:00.55. She also teamed with three other Golden Bears to win the 200-medley relay.
 
Redshirt senior Zoe Sianis (Wyomissing, Pa./Wyomissing Area) won the 200-IM in a conference time of 2:18.59. She also finished second in the 100-free, just over a second behind Davies.
 
Senior Jessica Bleiler (Dillsburg, Pa./Northern) posted a PSAC-cut and won the 100-fly in 1:01.71. She also won the 50-free (26.03) and was part of the winning 200-medley relay team. Rachael Burke (Barnesville, Pa./Mahanoy Area) finished second in the 100-fly in a career-best mark of 1:03.68.
 
Freshman Madi Bleiler (Dillsburg, Pa./Northern) was Kutztown's final PSAC-qualifier. In her first collegiate meet, she won the 100-back in 1:02.71 and was part of the winning 200-medley relay team.
 
Sophomore Katherine Triggs (York, Pa./York Suburban) also won an event, the 1000-free in 11:51.39.
 
The Golden Bears return to action next weekend, Saturday, Oct. 25, at East Stroudsburg University for a tri-meet with Misericordia beginning at 1 p.m.
