RESULTS
DALLAS, Pa. – The Kutztown University women's swimming team competed in a tri-meet against Misericordia University and East Stroudsburg University Saturday afternoon, and finished second-best to each school despite winning three events.
Junior
Jessica Bleiler (Dillsburg, Pa./Northern) grabbed the crown in two events, recording a time of 2:19.05 in the 200-fly, and finishing the 100-fly in 1:02.30. Junior
Zoe Sianis (Wyomissing, Pa./Wyomissing) was runner-up in the 100-fly at 1:02.43.
Junior
Caitlin Davies (Ephrata, Pa./Ephrata) won the 200-free with a time of 2:01.63, followed by senior
Elizabeth Metz (Rosemont, Pa./Radnor) in third at 2:05.62.
Sianis also took second place in the 200-IM with a time of 2:18.76, while Davies and Metz each earned a pair of silver slots. Davies finished the 50-free in 25.30, and the 100-free in 55.91, while Metz posted times of 5:25.50 in the 500-free, and 11:05.98 in the 1000-free.
Sophomore
Samantha Scialpi (West Pittston, Pa./Pittston) improved her career-best time in the 100-back to 1:06.56, good for third place.
Also finishing third, the 200-free relay team of Davies, Bleiler, Sianis, and junior
Rachael Burke (Barnesville, Pa./Mahanoy Area) finished in 1:46.94.
Kutztown ultimately fell to Misericordia 145-114, and to East Stroudsburg 162-97, while East Stroudsburg defeated Misericordia 142-117.5.
The Golden Bears return to action when they host LIU Post on Saturday, Nov. 9, for a 1 p.m. start.
