KUTZTOWN, Pa. – The Kutztown University volleyball team took down visiting Millersville University Friday evening 3-0 at Keystone Arena, its second consecutive straight-set Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) victory.

Audrey Stringer (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury) led the attack for the Golden Bears (10-9, 4-4 PSAC), hitting .474 for the match. She recorded 12 kills and four blocks.

Chelsea Braga (Long Beach, N.Y./Long Beach (Fairleigh Dickinson)) contributed a nice stat line, recording 11 kills, five digs and only two errors.

Nicole Brumbley (Oxford, PA/Oxford) and Danielle Van Buren (Bethlehem, Pa./Saucon Valley) were active on both sides of the ball. Brumbley put away nine kills and five blocks, while Van Buren added six kills and five blocks, tying a personal-best for the junior right side hitter.

Morgynn McKenzie (Greencastle, PA/Greencastle-Antrim) led the squad with nine digs, while setter Anna Conti (Grove City, Ohio/Grove City) tallied 33 assists and six digs.

After taking the first set 25-20, KU dominated the second set, recording 15 kills and only two errors while never giving up a lead. At 19-9, Madison Brake (Reynoldsburg, Ohio/Bishop Hartley) stepped up to the service line to set her team up with four easy kills, putting the set out of reach for the Marauders as KU took the second set 25-12.

Millersville (5-10, 2-6) did not back down in the third set, requiring extra points to be decided. After 10 tie scores and five different lead changes, the Golden Bears secured the third set 30-28, and ultimately the match. It was the third time since 2008 that KU had taken a set to at least 30 points. The 2008 season was the first year individual games were shortened from 30 points to 25.

KU is back in action tomorrow, Saturday, Oct. 12, as its takes on Shippensburg University at 1 p.m. from Keystone Arena.
