RESULTS

KUTZTOWN, Pa. – The Kutztown University women's swimming team defeated Lock Haven 137-125 at Keystone Pool Saturday afternoon led by multiple first place finishes by sophomore Caitlin Davies (Ephrata, Pa./Ephrata) and junior Elizabeth Metz (Rosemont, Pa./Radnor).

Davies (2:00.48) headlined the 200 yard freestyle coming in first, while Metz (2:02.92) took second place in the event. Davies also saw a first place finish in the 50 yard freestyle with a mark of 25.73.

Meanwhile in the 1,000 yard freestyle, Metz finished in first place with a time of 11:24.54. She also captured the top spot in the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 5:34.28 for first place. Sophomore Kelli Sheatsley (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) (5:45.63) followed in second.

Other contester with first place finishes on the day included senior Lauren Galetto (Vineland, N.J./Sacred Heart) who completed the 200 yard butterfly with a time of 2:13.9 for first place. Senior Jess Mape (Camp Hill, Pa./Bishop McDevitt) also saw a first place finish in the 200 yard breaststroke with a mark of 2:30.08.

Sophomore Jessica Bleiler (Dillsburg, Pa./Northern) took first in the 100 yard butterfly with a mark of 1:00.47, followed by Galetto (1:01.75) in second.

The Golden Bears compete again when they travel to Millersville Tuesday, January 22, for a 1 p.m. start.
