KUTZTOWN - The Kutztown University's women's cross country team moved up one spot to 24th this week in the second week of the NCAA Division II national cross country set forth by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
Kutztown last week was ranked 25th in the rankings. The Golden Bears moved up a spot despite being idle last week.
The Golden Bears have posted impressive start to the 2012 campaign. A third place team finish in their opening meet at the Lehigh Valley Challenge and a second place finish at the Division II Challenge have catapulted Kutztown into national attention.
Augustana remains at the top of the poll for the second consecutive week, despite a third place finish in the Brissman/ Lundeen Cross Country Invitational. Behind Augustana remain Adams State, Grand Valley State, Western State, and Alaska Anchorage round out the top five for the second consecutive week as well.
The Golden Bears will be back in action Friday, September 28, for the Paul Short Invitational at Lehigh University.
