Box Score KUTZTOWN, Pa. - Kutztown University notched its second straight three set sweep with a 3-0 win over visiting East Stroudsburg at Keystone Arena.
Chelsea Braga (Long Beach, N.Y./Long Beach (Fairleigh Dickinson)) had a big evening for KU with 14 kills and 12 digs for her 12th double-double of the year. She had four blocks and just two attack errors in the match and finished with a .387 hitting percentage.
Nicole Brumbley (Oxford, PA/Oxford) had nine kills on just 12 attempts and added eight blocks to help lead the Golden Bear attack.
Brianna Risch (Coatesville, PA/Coatesville) added six blocks, while
Danielle Van Buren (Bethlehem, Pa./Saucon Valley) and
Audrey Stringer (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury) had four apiece.
Kimberlee Gomber (Washington, PA/Washington) led Kutztown with 19 assists, while
Dana Wright (Warminster, PA/Saint Basil Academy) had 11.
With the first set tied 9-9, KU went on a 12-4 run that included six kills by Braga to take control on the way to a 25-18 win. The Golden Bears trailed late in the second set, 22-19, before outscoring the Warriors 6-1 down the stretch for the 25-23 win and a 2-0 lead in the match. Kutztown put the match away with a 25-18 victory in the third set.
The Golden Bears were efficient on the evening with 38 kills and just 11 errors.
ESU's Kaitlin Behrens had 16 kills to lead all players. Allye Preziosi had a match-high 23 assists and Maddie Hutchison added 14 digs.
The Golden Bears wrap up the season with a road trip to Lock Haven on Saturday, November 9.
