RESULTS
DALLAS, Pa. – The Kutztown University women's swimming team enjoyed a great afternoon by defeating East Stroudsburg, 153-100 in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) dual and Misericordia, 156-98, in a non-conference clash Saturday afternoon.
Kutztown (2-0 overall, 1-0 PSAC) established three pool records as it had another strong outing to start the season. The Golden Bears have won 17 consecutive matches.
Lauren Galetto (Vineland, N.J./Sacred Heart) set a new pool mark in the 200-yard butterfly (2:16.82) and
Jordan Shapiro (Yardville, N.J./Princeton) rewrote of pool standard in the 200-yard backstroke (2:11.34). Galetto and Shapiro also had some more fun by teaming with
Allison Sheely (Enola, Pa./Trinity)Â and
Natalie Carr (Exeter, Pa./Wyoming Area)Â to set the new pool mark in the 400-yard medley relay (4:08.28).
Kerry Choplin (Thorofare, N.J./West Deptford) was also a double winner for the Golden Bears. She won the 200-yard freestyle (2:01.28) and 500-yard freestyle (5:20.39).
The Golden Bears return to action next weekend when they travel to Bloomsburg University for a conference quad-match. Kutztown will also compete against Edinboro and Mansfield.
