RESULTS
INDIANA, Pa. -- The Kutztown University women's swim team swept duals against a pair of PSAC competitors on Saturday afternoon at Indiana (Pa). They beat the host Crimson Hawks, 145-100, and cruised by Lock Haven, 181-64. The Golden Bears were also awarded an 11-0 forfeit victory over Salem International, running their season record to 11-1 overall.
Steph Jeppesen (Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty) led the Golden Bears with a three-win performance. She met an NCAA 'B' cut time with her 2:25.72 in the 200-yard breaststroke. Jeppesen's other wins came in the 100 breast (1:07.65) and the 200 IM (2:15.27).
The Golden Bears also received two wins from senior
Heather Wolkom (Rumson, N.J./Rumson Fair-Haven Regional ). Wolkom met a 'B' cut time in the 1,000 free with a time of 10:47.87. She also won in the 500 free with a time of 5:18.50.
Freshman
Lauren Malloy (Lancaster, PA/Lancaster Catholic) had a first-place finish in the 200 butterfly with a time 2:16.01. Malloy, Wolkom,
Nikki Hinsdale (Glen Mills, Pa./Bayard Rustin) and
Kerry Choplin (Thorofare, N.J./West Deptford) won the 800 free relay with a time of 8:09.15.
KU will host the Golden Bear Invitational on Friday November 20 and Saturday November 21 at Keystone Pool.
