Marcel Quarterman enters his 11th season as an assistant coach and fifth as offensive coordinator at Kutztown University in 2024. He also works with the quarterbacks and serves as the program's community outreach coordinator.

Quarterman has coached eight All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) players at his position groups. In his first season at KU in 2013, he worked with the safeties and coached an All-PSAC First Team selection. He coached the running backs for the first time in 2014, as his players have broken records and combined to collect five All-PSAC honors.

Kutztown's running attack has become a threat in the PSAC since Quarterman took over. In 2021, the Golden Bears finished ranked second in the PSAC at 189.8 yards per game on the ground. KU posted three 100-yard rushers on Oct. 4, 2014, at Millersville for the first time in school history. In 2015, KU posted its first-ever 400-yard rushing game in school history and ranked fifth in the PSAC in rushing at 202.0 per game, its highest since 1998. KU broke the rushing record again in 2016, posting 459 yards at East Stroudsburg, highlighted by a school-record 261 rushing and 345 all-purpose yards by Craig Reynolds. KU ranked second in the PSAC at 226.5 rushing yards per game, the most in 40 years.

Quarterman came to Kutztown after four years at Division I Lafayette College as an offensive assistant, specifically wide receivers. He was also responsible for the punt return unit in 2012 and guided the Patriot League Rookie of the Year to the top punt return average in the league. Quarterman has also coached numerous all-conference wide receivers in his four years at Lafayette.

Quarterman also played a significant role in recruiting, attracting student-athletes to Lafayette on a national level.

In his first season as a coach in 2009, he saw the Leopards' passing offense take off with a senior quarterback and a talented wide receiver corps. Lafayette set records for passing yards, touchdowns passes and season completions.

Quarterman previously coached on the defensive side of the ball in 2008 as the secondary coach at Franklin & Marshall College. A Philadelphia native, he also handled recruiting responsibilities for most of the Delaware Valley.

A former defensive back at Lafayette from 2004-08, Quarterman served as a team captain and earned All-Patriot League First Team honors at free safety in 2012. Quarterman played in 10 games and finished with two interceptions, including one that he ran back for a touchdown at Georgetown. The Philadelphia native also made 54 tackles.

He was named the Lafayette Freshman of the Year in 2004 and is a three-time Patriot League Champion.

Quarterman graduated from Lafayette in 2008 with a bachelor's degree in economics and business.
