Chelsea Adam named to NEC Commissioner's Honor Roll

KUTZTOWN, PA (April 29, 2010) -- The Kutztown University bowling team may be finished with their season, but off the lanes the women are leaving a mark as student-athletes.

Sophomore Chelsea Adam (Reading/Exeter) was named to the Northeast Conference's (NEC) Commissioner's Honor Roll.To be named to the prestigious list, a student-athlete must earn a grade point average (GPA) of 3.75 or higher. Adam, a communication design major, has a perfect 4.0 GPA.

Earlier in the week, Adam was recognized for her academic achievement as a student-athlete at KU's annual All-Sports Banquet held in the Keystone Field House.

Kutztown also had four players named to the Academic Winter Honor Roll in the NEC. Earning a 3.2 GPA or higher was senior captain Steph Ray (West Lawn, PA/Wilson ) (elementary education-mathematics), sophomore Kayla Jones (Johnstown, PA/Westmont-Hilltop) (leisure/sports studies), freshman Jara Cohen (Marlton, N.J./Cherokee) (business administration) and Adam.

“I am very proud of our players for being able to excel in the classroom in addition to doing well at our sport,” head coach Joe Ambrose said.
