MANSFIELD, PA (November 7, 2009) – The Kutztown men's cross-country team placed eighth overall, finishing three runners in the top 50. Senior Ben Loht (Lewistown, PA/Indian Valley) (Lewistown/Indian Valley) placed first for the Golden Bears. (Complete Results)
Loht finished 33rd overall in the race, with a time of 33 minutes, five seconds. Loht has finished every race this season first for the Golden Bears. Loht has finished his last three races within the top 40.
Following closely behind Loht was sophomore Ryan Reich (Oley, PA/Oley Valley). Reich, finished the 10 kilometer course just ten seconds after Loht, with a time of 33:15.
Junior Kevin Rodgers (Clifton Heights, PA/Upper Darby) (Clifton Heights/Upper Darby) finished in 43rd with a time of 33:45. Placing 63rd was sophomore Eli Weeks (Pottstown, PA/Owen J. Roberts) (Pottstown/Owen J. Roberts), with a time of 34:28. Freshmen Harry Latchford (Enola, PA/East Penn) (Enola/East Penn)(78, 34:59) and Joseph Dyas (Westampton/Rancocas Valley H.S.) (111, 36:06) also represented the Golden Bears.
Kutztown finished the 10k race held on Mansfield University's campus with a total time of 2:49.30. They earned 253 points.
Edinboro University's Ben Hahn won the 10k men's race with a course record time of 31:02, but Shippensburg University placed first overall with 39 points followed by Edinboro (56), Lock Haven (62), East Stroudsburg (118) and Bloomsburg (185).
