Walt Michaels (1980) was a top football player. Son of former New York Jet coach Walt Michaels, he played for former head coach George Baldwin in the late 70’s. The younger Michaels was the team’s leading tackler for two years and team captain in 1979. A standout linebacker for all four seasons, Michaels later signed a free agent contract with the Cleveland Browns.
