Ron Reed, a graduate of Pottstown St. Pius X High, was named to the All-Pennsylvania Conference team as a linebacker three times. As a senior in 1970, he was selected as the most valuable defensive player in the conference. He then returned to St. Pius X as a teacher and assistant football coach from 1971-80. In 1980, he went into insurance and real estate. He is on the teaching staff of the Professional Insurance Agents Association of Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Delaware. He also does color commentary on high school and college football games for the PCTV cable network.
