Michele Pingar-DeAngelo ’84 was perhaps on the finest woman athletes in the 1980’s at Kutztown. Pingar-DeAngelo is the school’s only female All-American in both cross country and track. In track, Pingar-DeAngelo was a three time All-American in the 10,000 in 1982, ‘83 and ’84 finishing in the top five three times. She was an eight-time national qualifier from 1982-84 in the 10,000, 5,000 and 3,000 meters. In the 1983 PSAC championships, Pingar-DeAngelo was named the league’s most valuable female athlete as she captured first place in the 10,000 and 3,000 along with finishing second in the 5,000. In cross country, Pingar-DeAngelo was a two-time national qualifier earning All-American honors in 1983.
