Mark Kinnaird ’83 was an outstanding track performer. Kinnaird, who ran track for just three years, was a key point producer for the 1983 men’s track team that captured the school’s only team state title. Kinnaird captured both the 100 and 200 meter crowns, anchored the first place 4x100 relay team and was part of the third place 4x400 relay team. He was named the meet’s most valuable athlete. Kinnaird accounted for 38 of the teams 96 points. In the 1982 state meet Kinnaird had a second place finish in the 100 while capturing first place in the 200 meter and 4x100 relay. Kinnaird, who was called by his coach Ken Meyer “one of the most outstanding competitors I’ve ever coached,” qualified for the 1983 NCAA Division II national championships in both the 100 and 200.
