Lee Hill was the first men’s soccer coach at Kutztown University. He amassed more wins than any other head soccer coach with 84, while grooming several All-PSAC players and regional All-Americans. He led the Golden Bears to post season appearances in the ECAC Championships from 1973-75. His tenure began in 1970 and lasted for 16 years. Hill coached a total of 31 seasons at KU. In addition to soccer, he was the Golden Bears assistant basketball coach for 12 years, and head lacrosse coach for one year. He was employed full time at the University as an assistant professor of physical education for 22 years. Hill also had stints as KU’s director of facilities and scheduling, and assistant director of recreation and intramurals. He served as a regional and Division II chairperson for the Intercollegiate Soccer Association of America (ISAA). He also had coaching stints at Fairleigh Dickinson University, Muhlenberg College, Delaware Valley Regional High School, and Wilson High School. Hill received his bachelor’s degree from East Stroudsburg University in 1956, and his master’s degree in education from West Chester University in 1964. His most recent honors were his 1987 induction into the East Stroudsburg Athletic Hall of Fame, and the 1994 induction into the Berks County Sports Hall of Fame. Hill, now retired, resides in Fleetwood, PA.
