Jane Geyer (1982-84), was a record-setting attacker for the women’s lacrosse team during one of the most successful eras for any sport at Kutztown University. In 1982, Geyer’s first year on the team, she scored 23 goals in helping the Golden Bears to a 12-1-1 record and the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championship. It was the first championship for women’s varsity athletics at Kutztown. The Golden Bears advanced to the Eastern Regional finals. The following year, Geyer set a school record, scoring 65 goals. Her performance that season earned All-America, All-PSAC first team and All-Region honors. The team was 11-3, advancing to the PSAC title game for the second-straight year. As a senior in 1984, Geyer helped the Golden Bears to the conference title game for the third-straight year, scoring 39 goals in a 9-2-1 season. She earned All-America, All-Region and All-PSAC first-team honors. She finished her career with 127 goals. Kutztown was 32-6-2 in her three seasons, easily one of the best eras in school history. Last year, she was named one of Kutztown’s top female athletes of the 1980s. Geyer is an alumnus of Pottstown High School. She was an elementary education major at Kutztown.
