Gwen Kerr-Katzenmoyer was a field hockey and lacrosse goalkeeper at KU. She achieved her best feats in field hockey where she set fice school records, including shutouts in one season (11), and lowest goals against average in career (.72). She was a two-time NCAA first team All-American, Lehigh Valley Association of Intercollegiate Athletics for Women (LVAIAW) MVP, 1988-89 KU Female Athlete of the Year, and team MVP. The Golden Bears had winning records the four years she was in the team and had combined mark of 37-20-3. In 1988, the team set a school record for wins in a season (18), placed second in the PSAC and fifth in the NCAA national tournament. During her senior year, she was co-captain for field hockey and lacrosse. Kerr-Katzenmoyer served as an assistant field hockey coach at KU for five years (1989-93). She resides in Douglassville with her husband, Todd Katzenmoyer.
