Greg Gristick led the Kutztown football team to its first appearance in the PSAC Championship game in 1980 and its first-ever PSAC East title. Even more impressive, he did so in his rookie year with Kutztown and was named the ECAC Rookie of the Year. He was a two-time first team all-conference selection and held an impressive 55 percent completion percentage in 1980.
On a single-game basis, he set the record for completion percentage at 91 percent (10-11), which still stands today. He threw for a career-high 1,581 yards in 1981 with nine touchdowns including throwing fellow Kutztown hall-of-famer Andre Reed his first touchdown catch.
Gristick closed his career with 19 school records. His records stood for more than a decade.
