DeMatteo, who died in July 1966 at age 49, was the quarterback when KSC held West Chester to a scoreless tie in 1938. In the 1930s, KSC dedicated a new $65,000 stadium which became known as the “Stadium that DeMatteo built.” DeMatteo, a passing, running and punting threat, made the extra points with his dropkick style.
