Flory swam for the Golden Bears from 1974-78, and became the first national champion in school history when he won the 200 free and 200 fly in 1977. He went on to repeat the feat in 1978. Flory was a 15-time Coaches All-American and won six Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) titles (500 Free, 1650 Free, 200 Fly), while setting four conference records. A Golden Bears co-captain for three years, he went on to become a world-ranked marathon swimmer. Flory is currently pursuing a master’s degree in exercise physiology at Boise State. He is employed as a Fitness Center Assistant at the Sun Valley (ID) Sport & Fitness Institute.
