He was the only Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) player to make one of the four All-America teams selected by Bulletin, the monthly newsletter of Division II men's basketball. He was voted the 2009 PSAC East Player of the Year and became the first KU player to be named to the PSAC East first team for three consecutive seasons. He was also the 2006 PSAC East Rookie of the Year.

Ben finished his senior season with KU's second-most single season points with 675, behind teammate Stephen Dennis who had 715 points. He ranks second in career field goals, three-pointers, and free throws.

The 2009 Kutztown Male Senior Athlete of the Year helped lead the Golden Bears to a number of record-setting achievements and an impressive 81-36 (.692) record over his four years. The 2008-09 team had a school-best 28 wins and won the PSAC Eastern Division outright for the first time since 1988. The team also won two NCAA tournament games, the first time in school history that was ever achieved. KU finished as the runner-up in both the PSAC and NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional tournaments.

Ben is a native of Coatesville and is a Coatesville High School graduate. He is married to his wife, Kristen, and is currently working as a community rehabilitation specialist.
