Charles Blocksidge, a native of Pittsburgh, Pa. and a two-sport athlete at Pittsburgh Central Catholic High School, lettered four years and started every game for three seasons for the Kutztown Golden Bears. At 5'10", 170 pounds, he was considered one of the best pulling guards in the conference. In 1963, KSC's senior quarterback Bill Wiggins, a KU Athletics Hall of Fame member, was sacked only once that season and credited Blocksidge, a sophomore, for that stat. Upon graduation, Blocksidge served as an assistant coach at Chester High School and later as a NCAA Division I football official in the Ivy League. Blocksidge received his master's degree from Duquesne University and a doctorate from the University of Pittsburgh. He has held several administrative positions in school districts, including high school principal and school superintendent, and also served as vice-president of the Community College of Alleghany County. Blocksidge is married to Anne Musmanno '66, and currently serves as a member of the Council of Trustees of Kutztown University.
