NEW YORK – The Kutztown University women's track and field team saw copious top ranking finishers in numerous events, and recorded multiple PSAC qualifying scores at the Lafayette/Rider Invitational at the Armory Track & Field Center in New York, N.Y., Friday.

Winning triple jump,
Katie Catania (Audubon, PA/Methacton) recorded her first PSAC qualifying mark on the day at a distance of 37' 1.25” (11.31m).
Kristen Slack (Royersford, PA/Spring-Ford) finished sixth in the event with a PSAC qualifying mark of 34' 3.5” (10.45m).
In long jump, Catania finished in second place and earned her second PSAC qualifying mark at 17' 10.75” (5.45m). Slack also grabbed her second PSAC qualifying mark on the day, finishing fifth in the event recording 16' 7.25” (5.06m).
Christina Descano (Broomall, PA/Marple Newtown) also earned PSAC qualifying marks in the event, finishing in ninth place at 16' 5.75” (5.02m).
Catania captured her third PSAC qualifying time on the day in the 60 meter dash.
The Golden Bears saw three PSAC qualifiers total in the event in
Evan Dangerfield (Philadelphia, PA/Archbishop Prendergast)'s ninth place finish with a time of 8.08, followed by Catania (8.11) in 13th, and
Kimberly Richardson (Morton, PA/Springfield) in 18th with a time of 8.19.
Rachel Eshleman (Lancaster, PA/Lampeter-Strasburg) won the high jump event with a PSAC qualifying height of 5' 5” (1.65m).
Sarah Kimsey (Montrose, PA/Montrose Area) also earned PSAC qualifying marks of 5' 1” (1.55m) for fifth place in the event.
Emma Sullivan (Phoenixville, PA/Methacton) grabbed the crown in pole vault with a PSAC qualifying vault of 11' 3.75” (3.45m). Following in second,
Justine Ebbert (Hampstead, MD/North Carroll) had a PSAC qualifying vault of 10' 10” (3.30m), and in fourth
Rachel Schaefer (Phoenixville, PA/Phoenixville) recorded a PSAC qualifying vault of 10' 4” (3.15m).
The Maroon and Gold was represented by three more PSAC qualifiers in the 60 meter hurdles when
Kimberly Richardson (Morton, PA/Springfield) took second in the event with a time of 9.13 for her second PSAC qualifying time on the day, followed by
Mikaila White (West Chester, PA/Spring-Ford) (9.15) in third, and
Torrey Hollis (Hughesville, PA/Hughesville) (9.44) in sixth.
Richardson earned her third PSAC qualifying time on the day and White captured her second in the 200 meter dash. White finished in ninth with a PSAC qualifying time of 26.14, and Richardson finished with a PSAC qualifying time of 26.55 for 14th place.
Dangerfield grabbed her second PSAC qualifying time in the 400 meter run, finishing in 11th place at 1:00.15. Following her in 20th,
Iris Burch (Allentown, PA/Dieruff) also had a PSAC qualifying time of 1:01.37.
In the mile run,
Jenn Cleary (Chesapeake City, MD/Bohemia Manor) finished in fourth place with a PSAC qualifying time of 5:10.65.
Maria Borland (Hagerstown, MD/Hagerstown) and
Frances McNally (Drexel Hill, Pa./Springfield) also qualified for the PSAC in the event, Borland finishing in 10th place with a time of 5:14.72, and McNally finishing in 13th with a time of 5:20.22.
Stephanie Borland (Hagerstown, MD/Hagerstown) finished the 3,000 meter run in third place with a PSAC qualifying time of 10:11.32, followed by
Jayme Daly (Sunbury, PA/Shikellamy) in seventh with a PSAC qualifying time of 10:35.35. Cleary also earned her second PSAC qualifying time on the day in the event, finishing in ninth place with a time of 10:38.45.
Meanwhile, three more Golden Bears saw PSAC qualifying marks in the 25 lb. weight throw.
Rosealine Farrell (Bethlehem, PA/Freedom) had a toss of 47' 5.75” (14.47m) for second place in the event, followed by
Nicole Wildermuth (Oak Ridge, NJ/Jefferson Township) with a toss of 44' 11.5” (13.70m) for third place, and
Joan Wagner (Titusville, NJ/Hopewell Valley) had a toss of 41' 5.75” (12.64m) to finish in sixth.
In shot put, Wildermuth earned her second PSAC qualifying mark with a toss of 37' 5” (11.40m) for fifth place.
The 4X400 meter relay team comprised of
Evan Dangerfield (Philadelphia, PA/Archbishop Prendergast),
Iris Burch (Allentown, PA/Dieruff),
Brandy Nice (Collegeville, PA/Spring-Ford), and
Maria Borland (Hagerstown, MD/Hagerstown) saw a fourth place finish with a time of 4:03.00.
The Golden Bears return to action when the travel to Princeton, N.J., Saturday, February 16, to compete in the Princeton Invitational.
