Doyle Earns Fourth Conference Indoor Shot Put Championship

EDINBORO, Pa. – The Kutztown University women's indoor track and field team completed the 2013 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Championships held at the Mike S. Zafirovski Sports and Recreation Dome in Edinboro, Pa., in third place Sunday. The two-day event crowned champions in 10 track events, six field events, the pentathlon and the heptathlon. 

RESULTS
 
April Doyle (Greenfield Twp., PA/Lakeland) grabbed the crown in shot put, recording a toss of 46-05.25 (14.15m) to break the facility record for the second consecutive time. She beat her own record set in 2012 (14.03m). The win also marked her fourth conference indoor shot put championship, she has won every year of her career, and seventh shot put conference title overall (she won the first six of her career).
 
Stephanie Borland (Hagerstown, MD/Hagerstown) won the 800 meter run, completing the race with a Division II provisional time of 2:15.20. Maria Borland (Hagerstown, MD/Hagerstown) came in eighth with a time of 2:22.42, followed by Jenn Cleary (Chesapeake City, MD/Bohemia Manor) in ninth with a time of 2:22.87. 
 
Stephanie Borland (Hagerstown, MD/Hagerstown) went on to place sixth in the 3,000 meter run with a time of 10:17.84, while Jenn Cleary (Chesapeake City, MD/Bohemia Manor) finished fifth in the one mile run recording a time of 5:08.41, followed by Jessica Huber (Mechanicsburg, PA/Cumberland Valley) in eighth with a time of 5:11.95.
 
Katie Catania (Audubon, PA/Methacton) took third in triple jump with a Division II provisional distance of 38-04.00 (11.68m), while Rachel Eshleman (Lancaster, PA/Lampeter-Strasburg) saw a fourth place finish in high jump, recording a Division II provisional height of 5-05.75 (1.67m).       
 
In the 60 meter hurdles, Mikaila White (West Chester, PA/Spring-Ford) finished third with a time of 8.99, followed by Kimberly Richardson (Morton, PA/Springfield) in fourth with a time of 9.01.   
 
The Golden Bear 4X400 meter relay team of Evan Dangerfield (Philadelphia, PA/Archbishop Prendergast), Mikaila White (West Chester, PA/Spring-Ford), Iris Burch (Allentown, PA/Dieruff), and Maria Borland (Hagerstown, MD/Hagerstown) took sixth in the event with a time of 4:00.41.
