EDINBORO, Pa. – The Kutztown University men's indoor track and field team completed the 2013 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Championships held at the Mike S. Zafirovski Sports and Recreation Dome in Edinboro, Pa., in fifth place Sunday. The two-day event crowned champions in 10 track events, six field events, the pentathlon and the heptathlon.
RESULTS
John Lowery (Rohrersville, MD/Boonsboro) grabbed the crown in shot put, recording a toss of 53-07.50 (16.34) to break the facility record of 15.98m set in 2010 by East Stroudsburg's Paul Wagner.
Michael Stramara (Orwigsburg, PA/Blue Mountain) also placed in the event, recording a Division II provisional toss of 51-07.25 (15.73m) for fifth place.
A time of 3:20.85 gave the Golden Bear team comprised of
Ron Smith (Trevose, PA/Neshaminy),
Quran Cason (Philadelphia, PA/Carver E&S),
Mychal Robinson (Lancaster, PA/Cedar Crest), and
Kori Meshaw (Lancaster, PA/Hempfield) a fifth place finish in the 4X400 meter relay.
Kori Meshaw (Lancaster, PA/Hempfield) also saw a sixth place finish in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.51.
Meanwhile,
Eli Weeks (Pottstown, PA/Owen J. Roberts) came in seventh in the one mile run with a time of 4:20.41, followed by
Zach Fleming (Emerald, PA/Northern Lehigh) in ninth with a time of 4:21.48.
