LONG ISLAND, N.Y. – All 18 members of the Kutztown University women's bowling team bowled singles in the Adelphi Invitational Saturday, which benefited the Lupus Foundation.
The Golden Bears were led by
Christine Gordon (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill East) who finished third out of a total of 72 NCAA players who competed on the day.
Lauren Stamm (Reading, Pa./Governor Mifflin), and
Deanna DiRado (Greensburg, PA/Greensburg Salem) also represented the Maroon and Gold in the top 16 on the day.
Gordon won the first round match against Jackie Carbonetto of Sacred Heart (208-136).
Stamm defeated DiRado (179-136), and Gordon defeated Stamm in the next round (185-125).
Brittany Heart of LIU - Brooklyn defeated Gordon (207-186), but Gordon went on to defeat Ashley Howe of St. Francis (Pa.) (192-158) in the third place match.
The Golden Bears continue competition tomorrow for the team portion of the Adelphi Invitational featuring all quad baker matches.
