KUTZTOWN, Pa. – The Kutztown University women's track and field team finished in first place at the Ursinus Collegiate Invitational held on Friday.

Other schools that participated in the meet include East Stroudsburg, Rowan, West Chester, Georgian Court, Elizabethtown, Ursinus, Muhlenberg, Montclair State, Holy Family, Lincoln (Pa.), Alvernia, Rutgers-Newark, Rutgers-Camden, Immaculata, and Delaware Valley.
Senior
Stephanie Borland (Hagerstown, MD/Hagerstown) took first place in the 800 meter run with a mark of 2:20.93. Her time made her the tenth fastest individual in Kutztown history in the event.
Freshman
Evan Dangerfield (Philadelphia, PA/Archbishop Prendergast)'s second place finish in the 200 meter dash at a mark of 26.68 also made her the tenth fastest individual in KU's history in the event.
Dangerfield also had a second place finish in the 60 meter dash with a time of 8.05, while
Katie Catania (Audubon, PA/Methacton) came in fourth in the event in 8.12. Catania also saw a second place finish in long jump with a distance of 17-07.5.
Other top competitors on the day included the 4X400 meter relay team of freshman
Brandy Nice (Collegeville, PA/Spring-Ford), seniors Stephanie and
Maria Borland (Hagerstown, MD/Hagerstown), and
Kristen Slack (Royersford, PA/Spring-Ford) who finished with a time of 4:07.63 for a second place.
Maria Borland (Hagerstown, MD/Hagerstown) also finished fourth in the one mile run, crossing the finish line at 5:13.31 and
Jessica Huber (Mechanicsburg, PA/Cumberland Valley) saw a second place finish in the 3,000 meter run with a mark of 10:41.25.
The Golden Bears compete again when they travel to the Ursinus Multi Wednesday, January 23, 2013.
